Dy's Take

The Almost-True Story of Ryan Fisher by Rob Stennett

Not as entertaining as the cover art led me to believe it would be… And I had to create a “spiritual” catergory just for this book since I rarely (like really, really rarely, maybe one every 3 or 4 years) read from this genre.

I liked it.  It was less about a specific message than about the confusion people feel in a world of options and contradictions just within Christianity in America.  Plus it was funny. The ending, well, it was not as satisfying as I hoped, but I’m not sure this story could have ended in a satisfactory way.
All in all, a decent read, even for those of us who normally not don’t read Christian fic or even actively avoid it. (waving arm in air — me!  me! )
